Delete your account & data

You can permanently delete your Zavoy account and the data tied to it at any time, from inside the app or by request on the web. This page sets out exactly how, and exactly what happens.

Delete in the app

The fastest way. Your account is closed immediately.

Tap Delete account

Confirm with Delete permanently. You're signed out immediately and the account is closed on the spot. No verification is needed, because you're already signed in.

What happens to your data

The same rules apply whichever way you delete. Read these before sending a request.

Deleted permanently

  • Account & profile, including your email and name
  • Garage & bike details (including licence plates)
  • Bike photos, ride post images & recap videos
  • Ride history & recorded GPS tracks
  • Lean-angle & cornering telemetry
  • Saved routes & saved places
  • Ride posts
  • Chat & direct messages
  • Notifications
  • Friends, followers & leaderboard standing
  • Group memberships
  • Location history
  • Sign-in & device push tokens

Retained, and why

  • Anonymised, aggregate stats. No longer linked to you; used to understand overall usage.
  • Tax & payment records. Kept where the law requires (typically up to 7 years), then purged.
  • Moderation records. Reports you filed or that named you, and any action taken on them, so a decision can be reviewed and repeat abuse stays visible. They are detached from your account, so they no longer point to you.

Deletion is permanent and can't be undone. If you pay through the App Store or Google Play, cancel your subscription there as well. Deleting your account doesn't cancel store billing.

Request deletion via the web

No longer have the app installed? Send the request here. This site has no sign-in, so every web request is verified by email before anything is deleted. That makes this route a little slower than deleting in the app.

Signed in with Apple using a private relay address? Send that relay address, because it is the one on the account.

This email is used only to verify and carry out the request. See the privacy policy. Cancelling a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is separate; do that in the store.

Prefer email? Write to [email protected] from your account address instead. Either way, you may be asked one verification question before the deletion goes ahead.

Timeline & confirmation

  • Straight away. Deleting in the app closes your account. You're signed out on every device, your email, name, profile photo and password are removed, your name and photo are replaced with "Deleted rider" in group-ride chat, group ride rider lists and routes you shared, and your bike photos, ride post images and recap videos are deleted from storage. If you used Sign in with Apple, Zavoy asks Apple to revoke its access to your Apple ID. Your email is freed, so you can sign up again with it later.
  • Within 30 days. Everything else in the "Deleted permanently" list is erased for good, along with the account record itself.
  • A web request is answered from [email protected], usually within 1 to 2 business days, once it has been verified. The same steps then apply, and deletion is complete within 30 days of the verified request.
  • Backups are rotated out within their normal cycle, after which no copy remains.
